Jessica Simpson to name daughter Maxwell

Jessica Simpson is to call her baby Maxwell.

The singer-and-actress is expecting a daughter with fiance Eric Johnson and after debating on names for months, they have now come up with the unusual moniker.

A source told Life Style magazine: 'They tossed around a lot of names, including some wacky ones like Zinfandel, but couldn't agree on anything.

'They're going to call her Maxwell, Maxi for short. Maxwell is Eric's middle name, and also his beloved grandma's maiden name. Jessica wanted a name with meaning.'

Jessica - who was previously married to singer Nick Lachey - is due to give birth on April 20 after doctors brought forward her due date.

The source added: 'She's gained so much weight and the baby is so big that doctors pushed up the date.

'Jessica and Eric are so eager to meet Maxwell!'

However, Jessica recently admitted she is nervous about giving birth because she knows it's going to be painful.

She said: 'Labour is really going to hurt I have so much respect for my mom and all the women across the world.'
