Jessica Simpson is expecting a girl, hopes shes more like mom than dad

Jessica Simpson revealed in the April issue of Elle magazine that she is expecting a baby girl with her fianc Eric Johnson.

The designer, singer and actress, 31, who will next appear as a mentor on NBCs Fashion Star, hinted at a nontraditional baby name shell be giving her daughter, nothing shocking and nothing youll have to add to the dictionary. When people hear it, theyll know why, she said.

Though shes not looking to add her daughter to the list of crazy celebrity baby names, she does hope for one thing. She hopes her daughter is more like her than her athletic husband-to-be.

I swear, I will croak if she asks me for a pair of Nikes instead of Christian Louboutins! she tells Elle Magazine, explaining Erics athleticism is what makes her believe her daughter will be a tomboy. Eric is so athletic. Were gonna have this athletic girl and I wont even be able to take her shopping.

Simpson is big on fashion and shopping, but her other favorite activities are what brought her to discover she was expecting.

We were goin to have an all-day drinking binge, she recalls of the day she found out she was pregnant. [We were] gonna ride our bikes, hang outdo naughty things. But I started feeling this overwhelming guilt. Why would I feel guilt at the idea of going out and having cocktails with my friends?

She soon discovered she was pregnant, which she ! announce d in October. She says it was hard to give up her cocktails.

Givin up my Scotch? she says. My Macallan 18? That was hard for me! Though now, being pregnant, you crave other things. A big thing of water sounds great!

Due next month, Jessica hopes her daughter isnt as big as her fianc at birth. He was 10 pounds.

"I was only six pounds," she said. "So maybe Eric and I can meet in the middle."
