Jessica Simpson has chosen the godmother of daughter Maxwell Drew

CaCee Cobb is a new mothera godmother that is.

The BFF status between Jessica Simpson and CaCee Cobb is widely known, as Cobb has been a constant presence in Simpsons life for years. However, Simpson has recently made a decision that truly shows the extent to which she trusts and values her friendship with Cobb.

It is being reported that the singer, who gave birth to daughter Maxwell Drew Johnson three weeks ago, has chosen her longtime friend to be her little girls godmother. According to Us weekly, a rep for Simpson confirmed the news.

Cobb, who is currently engaged to Scrubs star, Donald Faison, started out as Simpsons assistant. Over the years, their friendship has grown continually stronger to the point that they now consider one another family.

CaCee and Jessica have been through so much together and Jessica loves her so much, it only made sense that she would ask her to be godmother, an insider tells In Touch magazine, Celebrity Baby Scoop reports.

Simpson has yet to make a public appearance since the May 1 birth of her daughter, but she has taken to Twitter to express the overwhelming feeling of love that she has for baby Maxwell and the joy that motherhood has brought.
