Jessica Simpson crossing fingers for 'American Idol's Phillip Phillips

Jessica Simpson has revealed that she wants Phillip Phillips to win American Idol.

The singer, who gave birth to her first daughter Maxwell Drew with sportsman Eric Johnson earlier this month, admitted that she is rooting for the contestant on Wednesday (May 23).

She wrote on Twitter: "Crossing my fingers for hot stuff Phillip Phillips!!"

The 21-year-old sang three songs on last night's show, where he was competing against 16-year-old Jessica Sanchez.

Fashion Star mentor Jessica added: "I want his record NOW!!!"

However, Sanchez has been tipped to win the show by Digital Spy readers. She pulled in a whopping 64.7% of votes in our finalists poll.
