Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson Reportedly Select a Date and a Look at Other NFL Players Who Are Engaged

Jessica Simpson and former NFL player Eric Johnson are reported to be planning a wedding in Hawaii that will be held on December 12, 2012. The couple recently welcomed daughter Maxwell Drew into the world. Originally, the pair, who had started dating in 2010, planned a wedding for November of 2011 but had postponed their plans when Simpson discovered she was pregnant. With the wedding back on track, here is a look at some other NFL players, or former players, who are currently, or are believed to be, engaged.

Eric Decker

In April of 2012, Eric Decker and country singer Jessie James, who is 23, announced on Twitter that they were engaged after dating for one year. 25 year old Decker plays for the Denver Broncos as a wide receiver. The two met through friends. There has so far been no wedding date set.

Wes Welker

In January of 2012, it was revealed that Wes Welker had been engaged to Anna Burns. The two have dated for more than two years. Welker is a wide receiver with the New England Patriots. Burns is best known for being Miss Hooters International in 2005. The pair have been keeping their relationship relatively low key, though he is not shy about mentioning her on his Twitter account.

Jay Cutler

Jay Culter and Kristin Cavallari originally got engaged in April of 2011 but broke up in July. Cavallari participated in the television s! eries "D ancing with the Stars" that fall and Cutler had been spotted in the audience multiple times. After the show ended, the two rekindled their relationship and got engaged again. Not long after, Cavallari discovered she was pregnant with the couple's first child. Cutler is the quarterback for the Chicago Bears.

Dezmon Briscoe

It is believed that Dezmon Briscoe and Royce Reed are engaged, though it has not been officially confirmed. When a friend tweeted about the pair's engagement, Reed did not deny that assertion. Though the two have had a somewhat tumultuous relationship, it seems that they are trying to work through their problems. It remains to be seen what will happen with their engagement and relationship. Briscoe is a wide receiver who plays for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
