Jessica Simpson's daughter could be a $13m baby

AFTER what seemed like the longest pregnancy in gestational history, Jessica Simpson has finally lost her baby bump.

Simpson, 31, and her fiance Eric Johnson, 32, welcomed a baby girl, named Maxwell Drew, Tuesday in Los Angeles.

The arrival could give Simpson a financial boost to the tune of about $US14 million ($15.58 million).

Simpson's branded empire already grosses between $US750 million and $US1 billion a year. Now she can add mum-friendly products to her line, an extension that could make her at least another $US5 million annually.

"Once people have babies it puts them in a totally different category ... Being a mum is her new platform," said Lori Levine, the founder of Flying Television, a celebrity-based marketing agency.

A reality show could bring Simpson as much as $US5 million a year, and even more if she capitalises on product placement.

And don't forget all that baby weight. Celebrities can make up to $US33,000 per pound lost with a diet endorsement deal and Simpson reportedly has already been negotiating with Weight Watchers.

Criticise her baby weight gain all you want, she is likely going to laugh all the way to the bank to the tune of at least $US3 million.

Add it all up and you have a total in the neighborhood of $14 million ... and counting.
