Since giving birth to her daughter, Maxwell, in May, Jessica Simpson has taken to motherhood with a natural ease and is barely seen without the cute tot by her side.

The Fashion Star host is currently expecting her second child with Eric Johnson later in the year - but it sounds like the unborn will have some competition for the star's attention, as according to insiders, Maxwell is turning into an adorable "mummy's girl" already.

Sources say the mum-to-be and the eight-month-old tot were inseparable while the star filmed scenes for her NBC show - with little Maxwell often seen by her mum's side.

"Maxwell is a total mommy's girl," the source told Us Weekly, adding: "She just wants to be held by Jessica."

"Jess is really cute with Max. The baby is adorable and never disruptive."

While Jess has the birth of her second child to look forward to, it was reported this week that her parents are preparing to battle it out in the divorce courts over a $300 million fortune.

"Joes desperate! to get his hands on the pot of gold and is pushing his lawyers to move the case to Los Angeles," a source told HollywoodLife.

Adding: "Joe wants a more even distribution of the wealth. Tina has already offered him a settlement of around $100 million, but Joe is holding out for even more."
