Jessica Simpson Doesn't Have 'Anything To Do With' Dad Joe On TV Show

He may reportedly be the executive producer of Jessica Simpson's new TV show which will be loosely based on his life, but it has been reported that Joe Simpson won't be on set when his daughter is there.

Alleging that Jessica and her dad are still not speaking to each other following the breakdown of his marriage to Jessica's mum Tina, a source told Radar Online that the pair will not cross paths on the TV show.

The insider claimed: "Dont be fooled that because Joe is executive producer for Jessicas new show she has now forgiven him for cheating on Tina. In fact, they still dont talk and Jessica doesnt want anything to do with her dad. Hes her manager, thats all.

He wont be on set when she is. Jessica will film scenes and Joe will have to review it later on a recording and discuss the show with other producers. Joe will have his say on how the show should work, but Jessica will make the final call."

The source added: "The only reason his name is on the credits for the show is simply because hes still her manager", the source went on to report.

If Jessica had it her way, Joe wouldnt be involved at all. However, shes still under contract to be managed by him so theres nothing! else she can do.

Speaking about her TV show during a recent appearance on the Tonight Show With Jay Leno, Jessica said:

"We don't have a name yet, we're just now in the process of casting everyone, doing the pilot. I will be playing myself but we'll have actors playing Eric and my dad. That'll be funny."
