Jessica Simpson refuses to work with her dad on new TV show because of his gay affairs

Earlier in the week we broke the news that Jessica Simpson has been working on a new TV show inspired by her life.

And now its been revealed that despite her dad Joe being a producer on the programme, Jessica doesnt want to be anywhere near him during filming as the pair still arent talking after reports that he cheated on her mum Tina with a number of men.

A source said: Dont be fooled that because Joe is executive producer for Jessicas new show she has now forgiven him for cheating on Tina.

In fact, they still dont talk and Jessica doesnt want anything to do with her dad. Hes her manager, thats all.

He wont be on set when she is. Jessica will film scenes and Joe will have to review it later on a recording and discuss the show with other producers.

Joe will have his say on how the show should work, but Jessica will make the final call. The only reason his name is on the credits for the show is simply because hes still her manager.

If Jessica had it her way, Joe wouldnt be involved at all. However, shes still under contract to be managed by him so theres nothing else she can do.

Despite her bad feelings towards her dad, Jessica is excited about her new autobiographical show on NBC

She said: "I am so excited to work with Ben [Silverman]and NBC on a scripted comedy.

"I often find myself thinking that no one could ever make up the things that actually happen in my life - so between the real-life elements and a great team of writers, I think we'll have people laughing!"

Producer Ben, who is helping with the pilot, also said: "Jessica Simpson is truly a modern-day Lucy with incredible comedic chops.

"From running a fashion empire to wrangling her public image as a new mom, we see Jessica's character approach a variety of 'everyday' circumstances that will get audiences laughing out loud."
