Jessica Simpson expands maternity line
Jessica Simpson has expanded her maternity line with a new "everyday chic" collection launching for spring.
The US singer is currently expecting her second child and has decided to increase her range of clothing for mothers to be.
Jessica's upcoming spring collection will be sold at more than 800 stores around the US.
This is more than double the amount of retailers that her previous two maternity lines for American company Destination Maternity were sold at.
I am so [pleased] this collection is growing and I am able to give even more women access to comfortable, fashionable and affordable maternity wear, Jessica said to WWD. We have designed a collection that is everyday chic, from bright jersey knit dresses to dressed-up denim. Im looking forward to wearing my favourite pieces during this pregnancy.
Jessica, who gave birth to her first child Maxwell in May last year, launched her debut maternity collection in Fall 2012. The original exclusive licensing deal between Camuto Group, the master licensee, and Destination Maternity saw Jessica's line sold at 350 points of distribution.
The upcoming spring collection will be available at Destination Maternity, Motherhood Maternity and Macys.
Jessica resonates with women everywhere and the response to her maternity collection has only reaffirmed this connection, Chris Daniel, president of Destination Maternity Corp, explained.
Under the Jessica Simpson Clothing umbrella, the star has launched successful ranges in sunglasses, handbags, dresses, jewellery and more over the years.
Her debut maternity offering was the 24th product line to be sold under the singer's name and helped push her fashion empire earnings to an estimated $1billion at the end of last year.
