Snooki Wants to Be the Next Jessica Simpson
Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi is pretty much Anna Wintour's worst nightmare. She adores anything pleather, leopard and neon -- sometimes all at once. She wouldn't dream of spending more than $40 on a dress. And she doesn't care if it's a fashion faux pas: She's all about mixing silver with gold.
That's just a few of the style scoops we got from the Snooks when the Jersey Shore star sits down for a chat with The Hollywood Reporterto promote the launch of her second fragrance along with an eponymous line of nail polishes.
Though only four-foot-nine, Polizzi is larger than life when she arrives wearing look-at-me trends from head to toe. Her long, dark-red ringlets of hair and super-sized fake lashes are framed by a big, J. Lo-style hat ("I have a lot in my closet," she says). A black button-down blouse with a gold-studded collar and buttons competes with an abundance of jewelry, including a navel-grazing black necklace from her namesake accessory line. And tight maroon pleather trousers are tucked into a pair of light-brown, ! knee-high boots.

"They're from Jessica Simpson," she says, kicking up a leg for us to get a closer look at the high wedge heels. Simpson is one of Polizzi's role models, and not just in the reality-star department. "Hopefully one day I can be on Jessica Simpson's level with the clothes," Polizzi says, referring to The Next Fashion Star judge's almost billion-dollar clothing empire.
Polizzi has certainly been taking steps toward achieving that goal. Last year, the 24-year-old debuted Snooki By Nicole Polizzi, an affordable line of sunglasses and slippers, as well as a tanning lotion and her own fragrance. The collection sold well enough for retailers like the Home Shopping Network that this holiday season she's launching a second Parlux scent ($45 for a 3.4-ounce bottle), along with a nail collection that features bright-bordering-on-garish polishes (colors include "Money Maker" and "Orange You Tan") as well an All That Glitters three-pack of sparkly polishes that will be available on HSN and in Perfumania stores nationwide.
All of Polizzi's new product will be released under a new and improved name: Snooki Couture by Nicole Polizzi.

"With 'couture' you think 'classy,' and I feel like I'm more classy and mature," says Polizzi, who became engaged in May to Jionni LaValle, the father of her three-month-old, Lorenzo.
In the high fashion world, couture refers to gorgeous, custom-made gowns that can cost tens of thousands of dolla! rs. Howev! er, Polizzi shies away from serious splurges herself.
"I bought a Louis Vuitton bag a year ago, and I freaked out," she says. "Even though I can afford those things now, I just don't like spending that much on one thing. You can get probably 60 shirts for $1,000."
On a serious note, Polizzi reunites with her former cast mates for the channel's "Restore the Shore" telethon, a live Hurricane Sandy benefit event in conjunction with the nonprofit organization Architecture for Humanity.

"I was at home in North Jersey with Jionni when it hit," she says. "Our electricity was out for a week. We didn't have TV, so I had no idea what was going on. I saw [the devastation in Seaside Heights] when I got to my mom's, and I was like, 'Oh my god!' Right then, I got everything out of my closet and ready to donate. It's horrible.
"You're going to see on the telethon that I went up in a helicopter and saw what it looked like," she continues. "I started crying -- it's really bad. It looks like a third-world country. It doesn't look like Seaside at all. It doesn't look like America."
"Restore the Shore" airs November 14 at 11 p.m. ET on MTV. Meanwhile, Polizzi can also be seen in the network's Snooki & JWoww, which is set to have its second-season premiere on Jan. 8.
