Jessica Simpson Will Raise Maxwell With Her Parents' Parenting Style
Her father may have charges for driving under the influence, but Jessica Simpson still wants to implement their parenting skills with her own daughter.
The Fashion Star mentor, 32, welcomed her first born baby Maxwell Drew Johnson to the world on May 1 (with soon-to-be hubby Eric Johnson) and says she cant wait for her to follow her passions in life.
"I'm going to let Maxwell do what she wants to do," Simpson tells iVillage. "I mean, I'm definitely going to parent her the way my parents parented me [but] when I was young, I was like, 'This is what I want to do,' and they supported me, and I was doing it by the time I was fourteen years old."
The fashion mogul also adds: I think it's important to encourage from a young age that whatever you're passionate about -- go for it!"
Simpson explains that she and Johnson are so busy getting used to being new parents, the couple havent had time to discuss plans for their impending big day.
But even so, the bride-to-be still has a pretty good idea of what her wedding will be like.
"I know it's going to be a perfect wedding, and . . . I mean, I say that, and it could not be . . . we really haven't planned it," she explains. "But I see it being definitely a destination thing and everyone celebrating and being able to dress up and having all of my bridesmaids looking beautiful in whatever designer they want to wear."
