Jessica Simpson reveals post-baby body and talks weight loss - See photo

Jessica Simpson revealed her post-baby body to fans on Twitter and to folks at home watching the debut episode of Katie Couric's new daytime talk show "Katie."

The singer and fashion mogul also talked about her Weight Watchers experience and the pressures she felt from the media to work off the baby weight as quickly as possible.

Just before her appearance on the talk show aired, Simpson Tweeted a photo of herself saying, "On my way to @katiecouric 's show! I'm her very first guest - Wish me luck!!"

The 32-year-old told Couric that she had lost over 40 pounds since giving birth to her daughter Maxwell Drew on May 1. Maxwell is the first child for Simpson and her fiance Eric Johnson.

Simpson, who is 5'4", has said in the past that when she posed nude on the April 2012 cover of Elle Magazine she was 170 pounds.

Simpson called motherhood "amazing" and revealed that her daughter's name comes from Johnson's mother's maiden name (Maxwell) and her mother's maiden name (Drew).

The singer spoke to Couric about the tabloid magazine covers that discussed her weight since having her baby.

"I've just had a lot of pressure on me to lose the baby weight," Simpson said. "Today was actually one of my goals, just getting here and feeling comfortable in a beautiful dress. I have to say I've achieved it. I feel beautiful today."

"I definitely don't pick up the magazines. I definitely don't Google my name. I try to avoid it completely," Simpson said. "But I subconsciously know the talk is going on. Every day it's a struggle for me. Weight Watchers is not intimidating. It's not a diet. It's a lifestyle."

The singer reportedly signed a multi-million dollar deal with the weight loss company to become a spokesperson in June. Her commercial debuted this week and can be seen below. Couric noted that the commercial did not feature a full body shot.

"I really didn't want it to be about my weight because I know that everybody has their weight and has their own issues and I really wanted it to be about the spirit of Weight Watchers and how I was feeling," Simpson explained. "I wanted to talk directly to people and so I didn't want the big body reveal moment. It's just not really who I am and Weight Watchers was on board with that thankfully."

"I set small goals for myself so I can achieve them every week, which has bee! n great,"! she said. "I've lost weight every week, thank god, but I've worked really, really hard."

She added that she is gearing up to shoot the next season of her reality show "Fashion Star" and is about 10 pounds away from her goal weight to wear designer duds for the program.

"I have to shoot a new season of my show 'Fashion Star,' so I want to be in all the pretty dresses and the designer gowns," Simpson said. "I'm 10 pounds away from that."

Simpson also told Couric that she has not set a date for her wedding and that it "won't be this year." She also said she wants to have a big, fun wedding.
