Jessica Simpson's Parents Set to Divorce
Jessica Simpson's parents have filed for divorce after 35 years of marriage and insist the split is amicable.
Jessica Simpson's parents are getting a divorce.
Joe and Tina Simpson - who are also parents to singer Ashlee Simpson - have ''amicably split'' after 35 years of marriage, amid rumours about Joe's sexuality.
A representative for the family told People magazine: ''It is an amicable split and there is no third party involved.
''Any other related allegations are completely false. The family appreciates your respect for their privacy at this time.''
According to an insider, the marriage broke down after the 54-year-old former Baptist minister recently admitted to his family he was homosexual, but his spokesperson has strongly denied the allegation.
Tina filed for divorce papers in Texas on September 24, stating: ''The marriage has become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities.''
The couple put their $4.4 million mansion on the market earlier this month amid rumours they were living apart.
Joe - who also acts as Jessica's manager - has had a difficult few months and was charged with two counts of DUI charge after failing a breathalyzer test in August.
If found guilty, he could face up to six months in jail, as well as 36 months probation and a $1,000 fine, TMZ is reporting.
