Jessica Simpson Puts Wedding Plans on Hold: Plus Other Stars Who Married After the Baby

First comes love.... then comes marriage.... then comes baby in a baby carriage.
The nursery rhyme may not hold true in the case of Jessica Simpson and her fiance, former NFL player Eric Johnson. Now that they are expecting their first child, the couple has reportedly decided to put the breaks on their wedding plans and just enjoy her pregnancy.
"They're both still really committed to getting married, and were both really into making decisions about what kind of wedding they wanted," a source tells People magazine. "It's just going to be at a later date now [because] they really want to enjoy this time in their lives."
If they do decide to wait until after the baby's arrival, the former Newlywed and her beau have lots of company with some of their fellow celebrities who slowed down the wedding plans until after baby. Here are a few of the celebrities who waited until after the baby to get hitched:
Jennifer Hudson: Wedding was on her mind in 2008 when Jennifer Hudson first got engaged to David Otunga and started planning her wedding. The tragic murders of her mother, brother and nephew changed all that and the actress put family ahead of the dream wedding. Their son, Daniel, made his arrival in 2009. Now that Daniel is old enough to appreciate his parent's wedding, the coup! le has g otten back to planning their dream wedding.
Kate Hudson: The actress has always been a bit of free spirit. It came as no surprise that she was expecting a baby with her then boyfriend, Matt Bellamy in January 2011. The biggest surprise came when Kate announced they had gotten engaged on the "Today" show in April. Now that their son Bingham, 3 months, has arrived, the couple is getting on with the wedding plans.
Katie Holmes: If she was going to marry Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes wanted to have her dream wedding. After their whirlwind courtship, the couple became engaged in June 2005 on top of the Eiffel Tower. Before the wedding could be planned, Tomcat was already expecting a baby. Daughter Suri arrived in April 2006. The couple finally headed down the aisle six months later in a lush Italian ceremony.
