Jessica Simpson Confirms She's Pregnant
The worst-kept secret in Hollywood is out.
No, the other one. NO, the one about who's pregnant. Geez, you guys.
"It's true -- I'm going to be a mummy!" Jessica Simpson announced Monday on Twitter. The post was accompanied by a photo of her in a frizzy mummy costume.
Simpson, 31, whose body has been scrutinized more thoroughly than some medical school cadavers, had been photographed recently with a lot more midsection than when she wore those high-waisted jeans in concert a couple of years ago. In her mummy costume, though, she definitely wasn't hiding the baby bump.
The singer, actress and former "Newlywed" is engaged to former San Francisco 49er Eric Johnson. They have been engaged almost a year.
It was not announced when Bronx Mowgli's cousin would arrive. Bronx, as students of weird celebrity baby names will recall, is Simpson's sister Ashley's son with ex-husband Pete Wentz.
ANOTHER SHOCKER: Seventy-two days after that made-for-television wedding, Kim Kardashian kicked the groom out on his badonkadonk.
Kardashian filed Monday for divorce from NBA player Kris Humphries, citing irreconcilable differences.
Us Weekly quoted a "devastated" Humphries as saying, "I'm committed to this marriage and everything this covenant represents." "Covenant"? Bless him, they must be splitting because of irreconcilable vocabulary.
The filing in Los Angeles County
Superior Court provided few details. Kardashian is asking that a judge terminate Humphries' rights to spousal support. What, with the NBA strike still going on?
Kardashian, 31, and Humphries, 26, were wed Aug. 20 at a lavish private estate near Santa Barbara. It was televised as a two-part special on E! The couple's wedding registry at a Beverly Hills jeweler totaled $172,000 and included such items as a $1,650 coffee pot and two $1,250 sterling silver vegetable spoons.
It was the first marriage for Humphries, who last played for the New Jersey Nets, and the second for Kardashian, ma! rried to music producer Damon Thomas from 2000 to 2004.
Kelly Ripa and Nick Lachey, the latter on stilts, dressed as Kardashian and Humphries in wedding regalia to host "Live! With Regis and Kelly" on Monday. The taping took place an hour before the divorce was announced. Oopsies.
SNITCH!: An Iowa woman has filed a lawsuit against rock star Sammy Hagar over a passage in his autobiography, claiming it violates a confidentiality agreement between them about a child she says he fathered in 1989.
In his book, Hagar denies he is the father and says he was extorted.
The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reported the woman met Hagar in the late 1980s. Court records show they had an agreement that required Hagar to support her during the pregnancy. The child died shortly after birth.
Hagar's Iowa attorney, Richard Sapp, declined comment.
SILENCE: Representatives for Adele squelched rumors Monday that the British singer, who has canceled her latest concert tour, has throat cancer.
E! News quoted the singer's rep as saying, "We would like to reiterate that Adele is to undergo surgery for a hemorrhaged vocal cord. All reports regarding any other condition are 100 percent false."
Adele, 23, canceled the remainder of her North American tour last month.
YOU'RE NOT HELPING: Tori Spelling went to the hospital Sunday for treatment of "a crippling migraine," E! News reported.
"Anyone else get horrendous migraines right after giving birth?" she asked on Twitter before husband Dean McDermott whisked her to the emergency room. "Is it hormones I've had one for a week now. Nothing is working." Spelling gave birth to daughter Hattie on Oct. 10.
She was home from the hospital by Monday, chagrined about the press fuss. As she tweeted, "I never intended2have 2tell peeps I had to Goto ER yesterday4 migraine but paparazzi followed us&told;story. All time low... Following a sick new mom to hospital&photographing;her in that condition. Is nothing off limits to them compassio! n wise?"
Tori, hon, the paps took pictures of Britney Spears in a gurney when she was having a drug-induced nervous breakdown, and they keep running current pictures of 94-year-old Zsa Zsa Gabor solely to prove she won't meet her maker in full makeup. You think they'll have "compassion" for a 38-year-old mother with a migraine?
Spelling's disdain for the press does not extend to her fans. She tweeted, "I'm doing better now. Thx 4 all your concern."
