Jessica Simpson on pregnancy cravings and new-found confidence

Jessica Simpson finally confirmed pregnancy rumors on Halloween and now the singer has opened up about her new-found confidence and surprising cravings.

"I love the connection that I'm having with my body," Simpson told Yahoo's OMG! "It really is just a miracle. Creating life is just such a powerful thing. I feel like I'm more confident than I've ever been and there's so much that I'm looking forward to. I can't wait to meet my baby."

Simpson, who ! has expr essed a fondness for fried food in the past, said her cravings have skewed in a surprising direction.

"I have to say that I don't like the taste of pizza pregnant, which is such a bummer because normally I'd be like, 'Pizza!' But mozzarella cheese to me just tastes sour," Simpson continued. "I'm craving a lot of fruit, but I think I'm just craving the hydration. I love cantaloupe! I can eat a full cantaloupe a day."

Simpson doesn't know the gender yet of her first child with fianc Eric Johnson, but she promises that there won't be more secrets in the future.

"I have a loud mouth, so people will probably know along with me!" Simpson, who has been posting on Twitter about her flatulence, told OMG!

The singer and actress joked on Twitter on November 8, "My belly is officially bigger than my boobs..well kinda...ha."

Simpson finally confirmed recent pregnancy reports on October 31, saying on her website: "It's True! I am going to be a mummy!"

The page crashed seconds after the 31-year-old Tweeted a link to her announcement, which contains a photo of her dressed as a mummy and holding her hands over what appears to be a large baby bump. Simpson's spokesperson confirmed to OnTheRedCarpet.com that the pop star is pregnant.

Her announcement was made on the same day Simpson, known for her fashion collections that have raked in more than $1 billion in sales, unveiled her new skin care line, BeautyMint.

Simpson and Johnson began dating in May 2010 and announced the following November, after he finalized his divorce from his first wife, that they are engaged. No wedding date has been announced.

This will also be the second marriage for Simpson. She and her first husband, Nick Lachey, on the MTV reality show "Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica", which documented their married life together. The two divorced in 2006. Lachey and television personality Vanessa Minnillo wed in July.
