Jessica Simpsons dad faces six months behind bars for drink driving

Luckily Jessica Simpson could spare the $5,000 to bail her drink-driving dad out of jail earlier this month, but it turns out hes not out of the woods yet. Its been revealed that 54-year-old Joe Simpsons facing up to six months behind bars.

Caught out

Joe Simpson, manager of daughters Jessica and Ashlee Simpson, was charged with two counts of Driving Under The Influence after blowing 0.12 in a breathalyser test on 4 August, exceeding the Californian limit by 0.04. It was reported that his arrest took place around 10pm in Sherman Oaks, California, before he was taken to Valley jail for the night.

His case is expected to be heard towards the end of the month.

Behind bars

If hes found guilty on both counts, hell be looking at six months in jail. On top of that he could also be facing a probation sentence of 36 months and a $1,000 fine.

Ouch.

No doubt his girls will be giving him a good telling off too.

Going off the rails

Its been rumoured that the episode could have something to do with the reports that his marriage to his wife Tina is on the rocks. After 34 years together, its been suggested that the former Baptist ministers and his wife have finally decided to call it a day. A source speculated that it may have been Tina that gave him the final push, that sent him over the edge and got him in trouble with the law.

Tina got tired of Joes controlling ways, and she finally had the courage to stand up to him.

As for Jess and Ashlee maybe expect to get a rap on the knuckles from them too.
