Jessica Simpson covers up her curves in a colourful kaftan as she takes baby Maxwell out for lunch

With her long flowing blonde hair and colourful ankle length kaftan, Jessica Simpson looked to be channelling her inner earth mother today as she took baby Maxwell out for a mummy and baby lunch.

The 32-year-old TV star and businesswoman clutched on to a baby bottle as she left a sushi restaurant in West Los Angeles, following her fiance Eric Johnson.

Johnson had the responsibility of carrying little Maxwell Drew in her carry cot, giving onlookers a glimpse of the tot's dainty feet.

The former American football star certainly seemed to be enjoying parenthood, smiling broadly as he carried his little bundle of joy.

The loose fitting outfit flattered Jessica's figure, as reports surfaced today that she has recruited her family and employees to join her on her Weight Watchers diet to shed the 70lbs she gained while pregnant.

'Jessicas mom Tina Simpson is doing Weight Watchers, her assistant is doing it, people that work for her fashion company are doing it, Jess has enlisted everyone around her to try and lose weight,' a friend of the star told Radar Online.

Jessica gave birth to Maxwell on May 1 and has a multi-million dollar contract with the weight loss company to shed the excess pounds.

The website reports she is training with celebrity fitness trainer Harley Pasternak and is 'so serious' about slimming down.

She even recently tweeted that she had bought the girls in her Weight Watchers group pedometers 'to track their steps.'

The inside source added: 'Jess has really focused on getting back into shape and with her mom and friends and co-workers doing Weight Watchers she really thinks shes going to be able to start quickly dropping the weight.'
