Can Jessica Simpson Still Cash in on the Big Baby News?

Can Jessica Simpson still cash in on her baby news? Looks like time is running out.

Jessica Simpson has ostensibly and not so subtly 'announced' her pregnancy with fiance Eric Johnson simply by showing off an ever-growing bump. And really, its hard to ignore the prominent baby bump she's been sporting, with or without a confirmation of the happy news.

Rumor has it that papa Joe Simpson has been shopping around asking for $500K for the exclusive on Jessica's baby announcement and the first shots of her child to various celebrity weeklies.

And way back when, as little sis Ashlee Simpson was pregnant with then-fiance (now ex-husband) musician Pete Wentz's child, Joe was said to be working a $1million deal for Ashlee's pregnancy reveal and pics.

But back to today's baby bumps: recently, Beyonce and husband, Jay-Z, announced Beyonce's own pregnancy simply by showing the world an early baby bump on the VMA red carpet and center stage during a tell-all performance.

And Jessica Simpson, as of late, is doing nothing to hide her own bump (already visibly farther along than that of fellow songstress, Beyonce's); with or without the red carpet, these recent reveals alone, seem enough to quash the need for a $500,00 admission. Still, nothing's official until it's Facebook- or weekly gossip magazine- official. In the end, it seems likely, that a mag will cough up something for the official official statement.

On the other hand, the blonde powerhouse could simply be sticking to her Christian roots, and trying for marriage before baby (or baby announce! ment at this point), thus the announcement delay. In Simpson's newest relationship, with Johnson, she has explained, "We're enjoying our commitment to each other. We want to take our time ... We might elope if it gets to that point." Way back when, at age 22, the Christian pop star famously abstained from sex until marrying first husband, Nick Lachey. It seems things went a bit differently this time around.
