Simpson has birthday feast amidst weight-loss campaign

Jessica Simpson celebrated her 32nd birthday with a backyard dinner party at her LA home on Tuesday.

And amidst reports she's signed a multi-million dollar deal with Weight Watchers to slim down, the menu sounds a bit too tempting.

"After guests dined on gnocchi with brown butter sage and pappardelle with yellow tomato sauce, everyone dug into short ribs with basil pesto pecorino and chili and pan-seared snapper," People reports of the party. "And in lieu of a traditional birthday cake, guests were served mini s'mores, pudding pies in mini mason jars and banana brown betties with ginger snap crumble for dessert."

Simpson tweeted last month, "Just so everyone knows...Weight Watchers hasn't put ANY pressure on me! I'm trying to be as healthy as I can be for myself and I feel great!"

The pop diva and fashion mogul told People in a cover story after giving birth in May, "I'm less concerned about how my hair looks or if my gut is showing. My life has completely changed ... I know I was always meant to be a mom, and I think I'm doing a really good job. I'm the most aware I've ever been."

At the party, Simpson's new baby Maxwell Drew made an appearance in a white Fendi dress, reports People. "Jessica was in heaven because she was celebrating for the first time as a mom!" a friend told the magazine.

Among the guests at the party were Simpson's parents, sister Ashlee, Simpson's nephew Bronx and longtime pal Cacee Cobb.

The pop singer's hubby Eric Johnson made a toast, and Rachel Ashwell of Rachel Ashwell Shabby Chic Couture did the dcor, which included, "vintage china, tons of candles, fresh flowers and a chandelier hanging above the swimming pool," People said.
